Marienkhof

Marienkhof (German) or Dunayevka (Russian) is an air base in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia located 10 km south of Pionersky. It was in use during the 1950s and has been abandoned near the end of the Cold War. It has a spartan layout, unimproved pads, if any, and alert strip feeding directly onto runway threshold, thus it may have been used by a Soviet Anti-Air Defense regiment. It is now the location of Pionersky Radar Station.

Sambia Peninsula

Sambia (Russian: Земландский полуостров, Zemlandsky poluostrov, literally the Zemlandsky Peninsula) or Samland is a peninsula in the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, on the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea. The peninsula is bounded by the Curonian Lagoon (to the north-east, the Vistula Lagoon, the Pregel River, and the Deyma River . As Samland is surrounded on all sides by water, it is technically an island. Prior to 1945 it formed an important part of East Prussia.

Primorsk, Kaliningrad Oblast

Primorsk, prior to 1945 known by its German name Fischhausen, is an urban locality in Baltiysky District of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia, located on the Vistula Lagoon. Population: 1,956; 2,150; 1,792. Primorsk is one of the oldest settlements in the region. As Fischhausen it has been associated with the name of St.  Adalbert of Prague, supposedly beheaded nearby in 997 by the pagan Sambians after he destroyed their sacred oak grove. It became the seat of the Bishops of Sambia in 1243.

Lyublino, Kaliningrad Oblast

Lyublino is a settlement under jurisdiction of the town of Svetly in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. Before 1945, it was a German village of Seerappen in Kreis Fischhausen, East Prussia. It was known for being the site of an airship base, then a Luftwaffe airbase, and a concentration camp.

German submarine U-2 (1935)

German submarine U-2 was a Type IIA U-boat of the Nazi German Kriegsmarine. Her keel was laid down 11 February 1935 by Deutsche Werke of Kielas 'werk' 237; she was launched on 1 July and commissioned on 25 July 1935 with Oberleutnant zur See Hermann Michahelles in command.
