Balga

Balga was a medieval castle of the Teutonic Knights. Its ruins are in the Pogranichny municipality, Bagrationovsky District in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia; located on the shore of the Vistula Lagoon north of Mamonovo, about 30 km southwest of Kaliningrad. The hill of Balga had been the site of an Old Prussian fortress called Honeda, that had been unsuccessfully besieged by the Wettin margrave Henry III of Meissen on his 1237 Prussian Crusade.

Grzechotki

Grzechotki is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Braniewo, within Braniewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia. It lies approximately 14 kilometres east of Braniewo and 77 km north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn. Before 1945 the area was part of Germany. The German name of today's Grzechotki was Rehfeld. The number of inhabitants in 1939 was 295. The village has a population of 73.

Expressway S22 (Poland)

Expressway S22 or Express Road S22 (in Polish Droga ekspresowa S22) is a single carriageway express road running from Elbląg to the border with Russia at Grzechotki-Mamonovo, where it connects to a Russian road that continues to Kaliningrad. The border crossing on the road opened in December, 2010 and is the largest one on the Polish-Russian border, making S22 the key transport connection between the European Union and the Kaliningrad Oblast.
