Łyna River

The Łyna, or Lava, is a river in northern Poland's Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship as well as in Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast. The Łyna is a tributary of the Pregolya River, and has a total length of 264 km (190 km in Poland - making it the 11th longest river there - and 74 km in Russia) and a basin area of 7,126 km² (5,719 km² in Poland). It is connected to Lake Mamry by the 18th-century Masurian Canal.

Polessk

Polessk, prior to 1945 known by its German name Labiau is a town and the administrative center of Polessky District of Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. Population: 7,581; 7,681; 6,859; 4,744 (1885). Polessk lies between Kaliningrad and Sovetsk at the junction of a main road and a railroad at the Deyma River, shortly before it enters the Curonian Lagoon. The Polessk Canal begins in the town. The town contains a castle built by the Teutonic Order, who gave it the German name Labiau.

Allenburg Church

The Allenburg Church is a Brick Gothic building established near Allenburg Castle by Konrad von Jungingen, the Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights, in 1405. Seriously damaged during the First World War, the medieval building was restored and slightly expanded in 1925. After the Second World War, Allenburg was renamed Druzhba. It is now part of Pravdinsky District of Kaliningrad Oblast. The church was used by local farmers as a grain-drier.
