Korobitsyno is a rural locality on Karelian Isthmus, in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast, hosting three popular ski resorts: Zolotaya Dolina, Snezhny, and Krasnoye Ozero. After the Winter War and Continuation War a number of villages of the former Finnish municipalities Muolaa and Valkjärvi (Päivilä, Sakastila, Pentsilä, Aliskala, Sakkalila, Kyllästilä, and Ilmola) was united under the name of Korobitsyno.

Lake Krasnoye (Leningrad Oblast)

Lake Krasnoye (Russian: озеро Красное, literally Red Lake, before 1948 Punnusjärvi, Finnish: Punnusjärvi) is a 6.9 km by 2.8 km lake in the central part of the Karelian Isthmus, in Priozersky District of Leningrad Oblast, near Korobitsyno. The lake belongs to the River Vuoksi drainage basin. Its area is about 9 km.

Karelian Isthmus

The Karelian Isthmus is the approximately 45–110 km wide stretch of land, situated between the Gulf of Finland and Lake Ladoga in northwestern Russia, to the north of the River Neva (between 61°21’N, 59°46’N and 27°42’E, 31°08’E). Its northwestern boundary is the relatively narrow area between the Bay of Vyborg and Lake Ladoga.

Volchya River (Vuoksi tributary)

The Volchya River is a 52 km long tributary of Vuoksi River situated on Karelian Isthmus 0.25-12 km to the west of the Saint Petersburg-Hiitola railroad (along the section between the stations Vaskelovo and Losevo) and flowing northwards from the Lembolovo Heights. Its major tributaries are in turn the Smorodinka, the Belaya, the Goryunets and the Petrovka. The Volchya River's width is about 10 m in the lower reaches, where it flows in a narrow valley, with meanders and oxbow lakes.
