Monchegorsk (air base)

Monchegorsk Air Base is a military air base in Murmansk Oblast, Russia located 13 km northeast of Monchegorsk and 11 miles southwest of Olenya. It hosted the 174th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment (174 Gv IAP) flying MiG-25PDS aircraft in the 1980s and MiG-31 interceptors in the 1990s. It also hosted a reconnaissance regiment, the 98 ORAP (98th Separate Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment) flying MiG-25RB, Su-17, Su-24MR, and MiG-31 aircraft.

Lake Imandra

Imandra is a lake in the south-western part of the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast, Russia, slightly beyond the Arctic circle. It is located 127 m above sea level; its area is about 876 km², maximum depth is 67 m. The shape of the shore line is complicated. There are a number of islands and the largest one, Erm Island measures 26 km².
