Cheremosh River

The Cheremosh River is a river in western Ukraine, tributary of the Prut River. It flows along the borderline of the historic regions of Bukovina and Galicia. In the Middle Ages and the early modern era, it was part of the borderline between the Principality of Moldavia and Kingdom of Poland. Currently it runs along the borderline between the Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi Oblasts. Both banks in the upper part of the river are inhabited by Hutsuls.

Sniatyn

For the eponymous town in Russia, see Ksnyatin Sniatyn is a city located in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, in western Ukraine along the Prut river. It is the administrative center of the Sniatynsky Raion, and is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|27|0|N|25|34|0|E| |primary |name= }}. The current estimated population is around 10,500 (as of 2001). In the interbellum period, it was a rail border crossing between Poland and Romania.

Kitsman

Kitsman is a city located in the Chernivtsi Oblast of western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Kitsman Raion, and is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|26|33|N|25|45|41|E| | |name= }}. The town is about 20 km northwest from Chernivtsi on the road to Zalishchyky. The first historical mention of Kitsman is dated to 1413, which also appears on the city's crest.

Storozhynets

|} Storozhynets is a small city located in Chernivtsi Oblast of western Ukraine, north of the border with Romania. It is the administrative center of Storozhynets Raion and is located approximately 20 km south-west of the oblast capital, Chernivtsi. Storozhynets is located in the historic region of Bukovina, which has been governed by Moldavia (before 1774), the Austrian empire (1774–1918), Romania (1918–1940 and 1941–1944), the USSR (1940–1941 and 1944–1991) and Ukraine (since 1991).
