Transfiguration Monastery, Staraya Russa

The Transfiguration Monastery is a former Russian Orthodox monastery founded in 1192. The monastery is located in the city of Staraya Russa, on the right bank of the Polist River. It is currently occupied by the Staraya Russa Town Museum.

Redya River

The Redya is a river in Kholmsky, Poddorsky, Starorussky, and Parfinsky Districts of Novgorod Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Lovat River. It is 146 kilometres long, and the area of its basin 671 square kilometres . Th source of the Redya is in Lake Rdeyskoye in Kholmsky District. The upper course of the river, including Lake Rdeyskoye, is located within Rdeysky Nature Reserve, which is a vast swampy unpopulated area. The Redya flows in the northeaster direction.

Polist River

The Polist is a river in Bezhanitsky District of Pskov Oblast and in Poddorsky and Starorussky District, as well as in the town of Staraya Russa of Novgorod Oblast of Russia. It is technically a tributary of the Lovat River though it forms a common river delta with the Lovat and the Pola at the mouth of the Lovat in Lake Ilmen. It is 176 kilometres long, and the area of its basin 3,630 square kilometres .
