Engels-2

Engels Air Force Base (also given as Engels-2 or Engel's) is a strategic air base in Russia located 14 kilometres east of Saratov. Engels is a major bomber operations base, and is Russia's sole operating location for the Tupolev Tu-160 strategic bombers. The base contains a 3,500 metres runway and about 10 large revetments. It is named after the Communist philosopher, Friedrich Engels.

Lebedovo

Lebedovo (also Dolinniye) was an air base in Russia located 18 km southeast of Privolzsky. It appeared on Department of Defense aeronautical charts dating from the 1960s and 1970s. It was probably a local diversion site for Engels bombers. It is now a dairy farm and the runways have been scrapped.

Saratov Bridge

Saratov Bridge across the Volga River in Saratov, Russia was the longest bridge in the Soviet Union upon its inauguration in 1965. Its length is 2,803.7 meters . It connects Saratov on the right (west) bank of the Volga, with the city of Engels on the left (east) bank. As of 2008, a new bridge is being built at the village of Pristannoye, 14 kilometers upstream from the Saratov Bridge.

Saratov Conservatory

Saratov Conservatory is a music conservatory in Russia. The conservatory in Saratov, was founded in 1912, and was the first provincial conservatory to be founded in Russia, after St Petersburg Conservatory and Moscow Conservatory. Saratov was, at the time, Russia's third city. The main building of the conservatory had been built in 1902 by architect Alexander Yulyevich Yagnom and originally it housed a musical school.

Saratov Drama Theater

Saratov Drama Theater (Russian: Саратовский академический театр драмы имени И. А. Слонова) is located in the city of Saratov, Russia. This is one of the oldest theaters in Russia. The theater began its history in 1859. Before this actors from Moscow and St. Petersburg came to Saratov, but they played in the houses of rich people only for them, a city theater was not. In 1859, the Saratov merchant (from German descent) Franz Schechtel has attached to your home theater.
