The Valdai Hills (Russian: Валда́йская возвы́шенность or Валда́й, Latvian: Valdaja augstiene) are an upland region in north-west of central Russia running north-south, about midway between Saint Petersburg and Moscow, spanning Leningrad, Novgorod, Tver, Pskov, and Smolensk Oblasts. The hills are a northward extension of the Central Russian Upland. The ridge is overlain by deposited glacial materials in the form of terminal moraines and other detritus.

Selizharovo

Selizharovo is an urban locality and the administrative center of Selizharovsky District of Tver Oblast, Russia situated at the confluence of the Selizharovka and the Volga Rivers. Population: 6,725; 7,330; 7,668. It was first mentioned in chronicles in 1504. At Selizharovo, there is a 350-meter-tall guyed TV mast, built in 1971.
