Northern Province, Sierra Leone
The Northern Province (commonly referred to as Northern Sierra Leone or simply the North) is one of the four provincial divisions of Sierra Leone. It comprises five Districts and covers an area of 35,936 km² and with a population of 1,718,240 (2004 census). Its administrative and economic center is Makeni. The North borders the Western Area to the West, the Republic of Guinea to the north-east, the Eastern Province and Southern Province to the south-east.

Farangbaia Forest Reserve
Farangbaia Forest Reserve is a forest reserve with a rainforest ecosystem in Sierra Leone. The Reserve covers an area of 1,260 hectares, is located approximately 10km to the south-east of the town of Bumbuna and forms part of the catchment area for the Seli River. Since the outbreak of Sierra Leone civil war in 1991 much of the reserve has become farmland and bush forest and there a number sawmills operating there.

Kamabai is a small town in Bombali District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, with a population of about 4000 within a 7 km radius (including the villages of Kagbumbo, Bonaia, Manlokoko, Kawere, Masasa, Makombon, Matunko, Mateli, Mabunko, Karim, Mankorokoro, Kamaron and Katanta). The town is about 26 miles (41 kilometers) northeast of Makeni.
