Staré Hory Mountains
The Staré Hory Mountains is a small mountain range in Central Slovakia, near the town of Banská Bystrica. It is a part of the Low Tatra, which is part of the Fatra-Tatra Area and the Inner Western Carpathians. The mountain range is named after the village of Staré Hory (literally Old Mountains). It borders the Veľká Fatra Mts. in the north west and north, Low Tatra in the east, Zvolen Basin in the south and the Kremnica Mountains in the west.

Harmanecká Cave
Harmanecká Cave or Harmanec Cave is a stalactite cave in Central Slovakia. It is located in the Staré Hory and Kremnica mountain ranges and close to the Veľká Fatra mountains. The closest villages are Harmanec and Dolný Harmanec; Banská Bystrica is around 16 km south east of the cave. The entrance to the cave had long been known. But it was only in 1932 that M. Bacúrik started to explore the cave further. Soon the speleologists discovered other parts of the cave.

St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (Banská Bystrica, Slovakia)
The St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (Slovak: Katedrála svätého Františka Xaverského, usually called Kapitulský kostol meaning "Chapter Church") is a cathedral at Slovak National Uprising Square in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. There was a first mention of a gothic chapel at this spot in the so-called Königsberger's testament from 1503. It was the only place of Roman Catholic worship during the 16th century, when Banská Bystrica was in the hands of the Protestants.

Banská Bystrica railway station
Banská Bystrica railway station (Slovak: Železničná stanica Banská Bystrica) serves the city and municipality of Banská Bystrica, seat of the Banská Bystrica Region, central Slovakia. Opened in 1873, the station is a junction between the Vrútky–Zvolen railway and the Banská Bystrica–Červená Skala railway. The station is currently owned by Železnice Slovenskej republiky (ŽSR); train services are operated by Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko (ZSSK).

Zimný Banska Bystrica is an arena in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of HC 05 Banská Bystrica of the Slovak Extraliga. It has a capacity of 3,000 people and opened in 1956.
