Mirna (settlement)

Mirna (German: Neydeck or Neudegg) is a nucleated village and a minor economic centre in central Lower Carniola, Slovenia. It is the largest settlement of the Mirna Valley and the centre of the Municipality of Mirna. It is situated at the crossing of regional roads and a confluence of several creeks with the Mirna River, along the railway linking Trebnje and Sevnica.

Pilgrims' Trail (Slovenia)

The Pilgrims' Trail is a 28 kilometres long trail in southeastern Slovenia. It runs from Žalostna Gora ("The Mountain of Sorrows") above Mokronog through Šentrupert, past the Church of St. Francis Xavier in Vesela Gora ("The Mountain of Joy"), and to the Zaplaz Pilgrimage Church in Čatež. The entire walk takes 6 to 7 hours. An organised pilgrimage takes place on the trail every year on the second Sunday of May.

Kum (mountain)

Kum is the highest peak in the Slovenian Sava Hills. Its summit is at 1,220 m above sea level. The mountain is also called the Sava Triglav since it is the highest peak in the region. There are a number of structures at the summit, notably a church and a transmitter.

Sava Hills

The Sava Hills are the eastern part of the Slovenian Prealps. They are oriented in the east-west direction and are located to the north and south of the Sava River in central and eastern Slovenia, among the Ljubljana Basin to the west, the Celje Basin to the north, the Lower Carniola valley system and the Krško Basin to the south, and the Sotla Hills to the east. They cover an area of 1,909 square kilometres and are the largest Slovenian mesoregion.
