Savosavo language

The Savosavo language is spoken on Savo, a small volcanic island north of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. Savosavo is one of the Central Solomon Papuan languages, unlike most of the languages in the vicinity, which are members of the Oceanic branch of the Austronesian language family. The nearest Papuan language to Savosavo is Lavukaleve.

USS Vincennes (CA-44)

USS Vincennes (CA-44) was a United States Navy New Orleans-class heavy cruiser sunk at the Battle of Savo Island in 1942. She was the second ship to bear the name. She was laid down on 2 January 1934 at Quincy, Massachusetts, by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Company's Fore River plant, launched on 21 May 1936, sponsored by Miss Harriet Virginia Kimmell, and commissioned on 24 February 1937, Captain Burton H. Green in command.

USS De Haven (DD-469)

USS De Haven (DD-469) was a Fletcher-class destroyer of the United States Navy, the first Navy ship named for Lieutenant Edwin J. De Haven USN (1819–1865). De Haven was the first Fletcher-class ship lost in World War II, having been in commission only 133 days. De Haven was laid down by the Bath Iron Works Corporation at Bath, Maine on 27 September 1941, launched on 28 June 1942 by Miss H. N.
