Greater Kokstad Local Municipality is an administrative area in the Sisonke District of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Kokstad is derived from Dutch, and it means "town of Kok". Xesibeland was a region in South Africa lying between Griqualand East and Pondoland in the area around Mount Ayliff. Xesibeland was the traditional region of the Xesibe people (AmaXesibe), one of the Xhosa people groups, closely related to the Pondo people and the Pondomise.
