The Battle of Barrosa (Chiclana, 5 March 1811) was an unsuccessful French attack on a larger Anglo-Portuguese-Spanish force attempting to lift the siege of Cádiz in Spain during the Peninsular War. During the battle, a single British division defeated two French divisions and captured a regimental eagle.

It was the site of the Battle of Barrosa in 1811. it is separated from the Playa de Sancti Petri by a cliff. The resort of Novo Sancti Petri lies along Playa de la Barrosa, which contains the Torre Bermeja. Several pieces of music have been composed about the beach including Isaac Albéniz's Torre Bermeja and Paco de Lucía's La Barrosa.

Ermita de Santa Ana
The Ermita de Santa Ana (Chapel of Santa Ana) is located in Chiclana de la Frontera, in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, southwestern Spain. It is situated on the highest part of the city on the hill of the same name. It was designed by a Cadiz architect Torcuato Cayón at the initiative of the brothers Francisco de Paula and José Manjón. After gaining permission from the military as the site was a strategic vantage point, construction occurred between 1772 and 1774.

Iglesia de San Juan Bautista (Church of St. John the Baptist) is a Neoclassical church in Chiclana de la Frontera, in the Province of Cádiz, Andalusia, southern Spain. Construction on an earlier began around 1510, in a slow building process, and was still not completed by 1576. The original church was demolished in the eighteenth century because it was impossible to undertake its expansion, due to its state of ruin.
