Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Marshes Natural Park

The Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Marshes Natural Park is an estuary in Cantabria, protected as a natural park. It is one of the wetlands of most ecological value in the north of Spain, and is used as a winter refuge and migratory passage by many species of birds and fishes. Formed by the Asón River, the park occupies 3.866 hectares, distributed among the municipalities of Argoños, Bárcena de Cicero, Colindres, Escalante, Laredo, Limpias, Noja, Santoña and Voto.

Matienzo

Matienzo is the name of a village and a karst depression some 25 km southeast of Santander in Cantabria, northern Spain. The limestone around Matienzo is riddled with caves (up to 54 km in length) which have been extensively explored over the last 50 years by Spanish and British cavers.

Jashobeam

Jashobeam /ˌdʒæʃəˈbiː. əm/, also called Josheb-Basshebeth /ˈdʒoʊˌʃɛb ˈbæʃɨˌbɛθ/ (יֹשֵׁב בַּשֶּׁבֶת, Yōšēḇ Baššeḇeṯ; some Septuagint manuscripts "Ish-Bosheth") and possibly Adino the Eznite /əˈdaɪnoʊ/ (עֲדִינֹו, ʻAdīnō), was chief of the Three Mighty Warriors and an officer under David in charge of 24,000 men according to the Second Book of Samuel (2 Samuel) and the First Book of Chronicles (1 Chronicles).

Gibaja

Gibaja (pop. 385) is situated in the north of Spain, in the Autonomous Region of Cantabria. It belongs to the council of Ramales de la Victoria. Gibaja is formed by a series of neighborhoods, namely La Quintana, Pondra, Riancho, Bárcena and La Estación. Gibaja has its own train station on the railway line FEVE which connects Bilbao and Santander. Two rivers, the Ason and the Carranza, cross Gibaja. The first is one of the most important salmon rivers in Cantabria.

Isla (Cantabria)

Isla is a small village belonging to the municipality of Arnuero together with other peoples as Soane, Castillo Siete Villas and Arnuero. Is in the region of Trasmiera. Located in northern Cantabria, delimited with the Bay of Biscay to the north, the river and the town of Joyel Noja east, the estuary and the town of Ajo Ajo west, and Mount cinch and the people of the Arnuero south. The main economic activity of the town is tourism. In 2004 it had 935 inhabitants.
