Medina de Rioseco is a municipality located in the province of Valladolid, in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census, the municipality has a population of 5,037 inhabitants. During the Peninsular War, it was here that the Battle of Medina del Rioseco took place on July 14, 1808. The city is also known by the nicknames of the City of the Admirals and the Old India Girl.
