Nela River

The Nela is a river in northeastern Castile-Leon, Spain, one of the tributaries of the Ebro River. It has a watershed of 1.081,20 km², with a total length of 75 km . The river has its source in the karstic hills of Montes del Somo, near Merindad de Valdeporres. Most of the Nela's water is drawn by the Trasvase Cerneja-Ordunte to supply water to Bilbao, as well as irrigation. There are fishfarms in Busnela and Pedrosa de Valdeporres, as well as a hydroelectric complex in Nofuentes.

Engaña Tunnel

The Engaña Tunnel (Spanish: Túnel de la Engaña) is a never-completed railway tunnel in Spain, connecting the provinces of Burgos and Cantabria through the Cantabrian Mountains. The tunnel was part of the proposed Santander–Mediterranean railway line, an attempt by the Spanish government to connect the Bay of Biscay with the Mediterranean Sea. The construction lasted for over seventeen years, from 1941 to 1959, employing hundreds of workers, including Republican prisoners during the first years.

Castro Valnera

Castru Valnera or Castro Valnera is a peak located in the central area of the Cantabrian Mountains, in Cantabria, northern Spain. It is around it that the whole Pas valley revolves, and also the source of the Miera River, between the Lunada and Estacas de Trueba passes. Castru in Cantabrian refers to an abrupt rocky peak.
