Battle of Viadangos

The Battle of Viadangos or Fontedangos (Fonte de Angos) was fought in the autumn of 1111 between the forces of Alfonso I of Aragon and the Galician allies of his estranged wife, Urraca of León and Castile, at Villadangos north of Luna, some twenty kilometres from León. Alfonso was victorious in a rout, but Urraca's son and co-ruler, Alfonso Raimúndez, escaped.

Plaza de Toros de El Bibio

The Plaza de Toros de El Bibio is a bullring located in Gijón, Asturias, Spain. Situated in the neighbourhood of El Bibio, it was inaugurated on August 12, 1888 with a bullfighting with Luis Mazzantini and Rafael Guerra, Guerrita. The bullring was destroyed in the Spanish Civil War and it was renovated in 1997. On March 20, 1992 it was declared Bien de Interés Cultural. Apart from bullfighting, the ring is also used for music concerts. \t\t \t\t\tPlaza de toros del Bibio en Gijón-Asturias.

Pajares Base Tunnel

The new Pajares Tunnel is a 24,667 m-long railway tunnel under construction in Spain. It will be on the AVE line from Valladolid to Gijón but could be used also by freight trains in the future. Standard gauge and 25 kV AC electrification will probably be used, so freight trains will probably not use the tunnel from the beginning. Some sources say that the tunnel will be dual gauge from the opening (around 2013).
