Castle of Peñaranda de Duero

The castle of Peñaranda de Duero is one of the best conserved castles in Burgos. It originally dates from the 10th century. It was an important point on the fortified line which existed between the Christian kingdom of Castlle and the Moors kingdoms. It has the form of a narrow walled precinct, with a keep rising from the center.
