Villalba del Rey is a municipality located in the province of Cuenca, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It is part of the natural region of La Alcarria. According to the 2004 census, the municipality has a population of 662 inhabitants. Formerly known as Villalba de Huete, it became independent in 1411 and acquired its present name. Local economy is based in agriculture, sheep husbandry and beekeeping; with the main produce being cereals, olive oil, sunflower oil, honey and wine.
