Kalladi (Batticaloa)

Kallady is a village within the Batticaloa District of Eastern province of Sri Lanka. It lies north of Batticaloa city. As part of ongoing Sri Lankan civil war, the Kallady village has military installments. 2004 Tsunami affected the village resulting in major loss of life and property. Batticaloa Fort

The Batticaloa Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1628 and was the first to be captured by the Dutch on 18 May 1638. Later, the fort was used by British from 1745. The fort has a structure of four bastions and protected by the Batticaloa Lagoon from two sides and a canal of the other two sides. The fort is still in reasonable condition and many local administrative departments of Sri Lanka government function in new buildings, which is based in the old structure.

Kallady Bridge

Kallady Bridge (Tamil: கல்லடிப் பாலம்; also known as the Lady Manning Bridge) is a road bridge in eastern Sri Lanka. It crosses the Batticaloa Lagoon at Batticaloa. The bridge is part of the A4 Colombo-Batticaloa highway.
