Aneby Municipality

Aneby Municipality (Aneby kommun) is a municipality in Jönköping County in southern Sweden, where the town Aneby is the seat. The municipality was formed in 1967 when the municipalities of Bredestad and Hullaryd, both created in 1952 were amalgamated. The name was taken from the largest locality, Aneby, which was chosen as the seat. Before 1952 there were nine municipalities in the area.

Gripenberg Castle

Gripenberg Castle is a wooden manor house near Tranås in Småland, Sweden. It is considered to be the biggest wooden castle in Sweden and one of the oldest that remain today as well. Gripenberg Castle was built in 1663 as a huntig seat for the field marshal Carl Gustaf Wrangel. Its architect is unknown, but there is some reason to believe, that it might have been Nicodemus Tessin the Elder.

Tranås Municipality

Tranås Municipality (Tranås kommun) is a municipality in Jönköping County, southern Sweden, where the town Tranås is seat. The original entity Tranås was detached from the rural municipality Säby as a market town in 1882 and made a city in 1919. The reunification took place in 1951 when Säby was made a part of Tranås.

Göta ingenjörregemente

Göta ingenjörregemente (Götaland Engineer Regiment), designation Ing 2, is a Swedish Army engineer regiment that traces its origins back to the 19th century. It is still in active service, and is currently garrisoned in Eksjö. In spring 2008 the Swedish government announced that the Göta Ingenjörsregemente is threaten by closure in efforts to saving money at the Swedish defence. Decision is made in September 2008.

Smålands regemente

Västmanlands regemente (Västmanland Regiment), designations I 18 and Fo 48, was a Swedish Army infantry regiment that traced its origins back to the 16th century. The regiment was closed June 30, 2000 as part of the army downsizing.
