Stångån

Stångån is a small river in southern Sweden, 185 km long and with a drainage basin of 2440 km. It flows from the highlands of eastern Småland in the south to lake Roxen in the north. It passes through Vimmerby, Kisa, and Linköping. A great deal of the river is extended to a canal, Kinda kanal. A railway takes the same course as the river. Stångån passes through the deciduous forests of one of Sweden's main cultural areas, featuring several great manor houses of the nobility.

Norra Kvill National Park

Norra Kvill is a small national park (established in 1927) near Vimmerby in Kalmar county, Småland, southeastern Sweden. A few kilometers from the park is the Rumskulla oak, Europe's largest English oak with a circumference of about 14 meters. The oak is thought to be about 1 000 years old.

Astrid Lindgren's World

Astrid Lindgren's World (Astrid Lindgrens Värld) is a theme park located in Astrid Lindgren's native city Vimmerby, Sweden. In its 130,000 square metres, visitors meet all the beloved characters from Astrid Lindgren's books in person. All the environments are built as prescribed in the books and they give child visitors the possibility to enter into the stories of Pippi Longstocking, Emil i Lönneberga, Karlsson-on-the-Roof, and many others of Astrid Lindgren's beloved characters.

Vimmerby Municipality

Vimmerby Municipality (Vimmerby kommun) is a municipality in Kalmar County, south-eastern Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Vimmerby. Stångån is a small river running through the municipality. The municipality was created by the local government reform of 1971, when the City of Vimmerby was amalgamated with the surrounding rural municipalities to form an entity of unitary type.

Kinda Municipality

Kinda Municipality (Kinda kommun) is a municipality in Östergötland County, southeast Sweden. The municipal seat is located in the town Kisa, with some 4,000 inhabitants. The present municipality was created in 1974 through the amalgamation of three municipalities called Norra Kinda, Södra Kinda and Västra Kinda (North, South and West Kinda respectively), which had been formed in 1952 from the nine original entities. The name was taken from the old Kinda Hundred.
