Torsås Municipality

Torsås Municipality (Torsås kommun) is the southernmost municipality of Kalmar County, Sweden. Its seat is located in the town Torsås. The present municipality was created in 1971, when "old" Torsås was merged with Söderåkra. The geography consists mainly of forests, not uncommon in Småland province. Located by the Baltic Sea, it has been somewhat cultivated too and there are some plains.

Kalmar County (Kalmar län) is a county or län in southern Sweden. It borders the counties of Kronoberg, Jönköping, Blekinge and Östergötland. To the east in the Baltic Sea is the island Gotland.
