Halltorp

Halltorp is one of the earliest manor houses on the island of Öland, Sweden, dating from the 11th century AD. In early documents it is known as Hauldtorp, and it is cited as one of the early Viking settlements of Öland. In earlier times it has functioned as a royal farm associated with the Swedish Crown and was considered one of the finest hunting preserves on the island. There is a relict oak forest on the present grounds which contains numerous trees that are centuries old.

Kalmar Strait

The Kalmar Strait, Kalmarsund, is a strait in the Baltic Sea, located between the Swedish island of Öland and the province of Småland of the Swedish mainland. The strait is about 130 kilometres long and between 5 kilometres and 25 kilometres in width. There is a road bridge across the strait, the Öland bridge.

Mönsterås Municipality

Mönsterås Municipality (Mönsterås kommun) is a municipality in Kalmar County, south-eastern Sweden, with its seat located in the town Mönsterås. Mönsterås was an original market town köping, which in 1952 was united with the rural municipality by the same name. By the local government reform of 1971 it became a municipality of unitary type and amalgamated with Fliseryd and Ålem in 1974.
