Ekenäs Castle

Ekenäs Castle (Ekenäs slott in Swedish) is a castle located outside Linköping in Linköping Municipality, Östergötland, South-East Sweden. The present castle was built in the 17th century on top of the foundations of a medieval fortress from the 14th century. The lake surrounding the castle hill created a natural defense; however, this was drained in the late 19th century to create more arable land in the area. It is, and has always been, a privately owned castle.

Åtvidaberg Municipality

Åtvidaberg Municipality (Åtvidabergs kommun) is a municipality in Östergötland County in southeastern Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Åtvidaberg, with some 7,000 inhabitants. The present municipality was established in 1971 when the market town of Åtvidaberg (instituted in 1947) was amalgamated with its surrounding rural municipalities. A part of the present territory was transferred from Kalmar County.

Kopparvallen

Kopparvallen is a multi-use stadium in Åtvidaberg, Sweden. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Åtvidabergs FF. The stadium holds 8,000 people and was built in 1907. Famous football players who have played in the arena is Ralf Edström, Roland Sandberg, Conny Torstensson, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pelé.

Götavirke

Götavirke (Geatish Dyke) are the remains of two parallel defensive walls going from north to south between the villages of Västra Husby and Hylinge in Söderköping Municipality, Östergötland, Sweden. The walls cover the distance between the lakes Asplången and Lillsjön . North of Asplången there are remains of several ancient hill forts that may have been part of the defensive line. South of Lake Lillsjön, the terrain is so hard to pass that it hardly needed any defenses.
