Battle of Fotevik

Battle of Fotevik was fought between forces of King Niels of Denmark and his son Magnus Nilsson, against those of Erik Emune on 4 June 1134 at the bay of Fotevik in Skåne. At his death, King Eric I of Denmark had two known sons who were candidates for succession to the throne, Canute Lavard and Erik Emune. Canute, as Eric's only legitimate son, had a particularly strong claim. When King Eric's younger brother Niels was selected instead, becoming King Niels, Canute was forced to flee.

Falsterbo Canal

Falsterbo Canal is a short canal that allows ships to pass inside Falsterbo, Skanör and Ljunghusen from the Baltic to the Öresund. Falsterbo, Skanör and Ljunghusen lie on the Skanör-Falsterbo peninsula (now essentially an island which is called "Näset").

Vellinge Municipality

Vellinge Municipality (Vellinge kommun) is a municipality in Skåne County in southern Sweden. Its seat is located in Vellinge. The present municipality is a result of the latest local government reform in Sweden. In 1974 the municipalities of Räng, Vellinge and Månstorp (all three created through amalgamation of even smaller units in 1952) amalgamated with the former Town of Skanör med Falsterbo to form a new Vellinge Municipality.

Vellinge Airport

Vellinge Airfield, also known as Vellinge-Söderslätt Airfield, is an airport in Vellinge, Sweden, run by Söderslätts Aviation Club. The club has about 80 members and owns one PA-28-180, one Evektor EV-97 Eurostar (Ultralight) and one Aerospool WT-9 Dynamic. The aviation club and airport was previously located at the Trelleborg/Maglarp airport located just a few hundred meters to the north, but was forced to relocate in 2003.
