Forshaga Municipality

Forshaga Municipality (Forshaga kommun) is a municipality in Värmland County in west central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Forshaga. The first municipality named Forshaga was a market town which was detached from Grava in 1944. The local government reform of the 1970s made Forshaga a unitary municipality in 1971 and in 1974 Ullerud was added to it. Forshaga was known in the 14th century as a location for salmon fishing in the river Klarälven.

Kil Municipality

Kil Municipality (Kils kommun) is a municipality in Värmland County in west central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Kil. The local government reform of 1971 amalgamated Stora Kil, Järnskog and a part of Brunskog, thus forming Kil Municipality. Kil means wedge, crack or similar in Swedish, in this case referring to a bay (old Swedish). The name is at least from the fifteenth century, referring to a bay by the small lake Hyn, where the church was constructed.

Fryken

Fryken is a chain of three lakes in Värmland, Sweden: Upper, Middle and Lower Fryken. The lakes are separated by two sounds, Sunnesundet and Nilsbysundet. The total length of Fryken is 80 km, but it is only 3 km wide at the widest part. The maximum depth is 120 meters and it is located at 62 meters above sea level. Fryken is drained by Norsälven.

 Värmland is a historical province or landskap in the west of middle Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Dalsland, Dalarna, Västmanland and Närke. It is also bounded by Norway in the west. Latin name versions are Vermelandia and Wermelandia. Although the province's land originally was Götaland, the province's current land is Svealand. The origin of the province's name is uncertain.
