Vänersborg Municipality
Vänersborg Municipality (Vänersborgs kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Vänersborg. The present municipality was created during the local government reform in the early 1970s. In 1971 the City of Vänersborg became a municipality of unitary type and three years later it was amalgamated with three surrounding municipalities. The number of original local government entities (as of 1863) is eight.

Älvsborg County
Älvsborg County, or Älvsborgs län, was a county of Sweden until December 31, 1998 when it was merged with the counties of Gothenburg and Bohus and Skaraborg to form the county of Västra Götaland. It consisted of the Provinces of Dalsland and the central part of Västergötland with the seat of residence in the city of Vänersborg. The municipalities of Habo and Mullsjö, which were adjacent to the city of Jönköping, ceded from Älvsborg to acced Jönköping County, on January 1, 1999.

Frida High School
Frida High School is a private secondary school located in Vänersborg, Sweden. It was started in 2006 and is part of the greater concern Frida Utbildning AB, which also operates three elementary schools in Trestad. Frida High has approximately 190 students, which makes it a fairly small school by both European and Swedish means. The school is located in facilities historically accommodated by the army, but along with many others nationally, the regiment was closed during the early 20th century.

Färgelanda Municipality
Färgelanda Municipality (Färgelanda kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Färgelanda. The present municipality was formed in 1974 when "old" Färgelanda Municipality (which in 1967 had absorbed Ödeborg) was amalgamated with Högsäter. Its coat of arms are based on a medieval seal depicting a harrow. It symbolizes agriculture.
