Askim, Sweden

Askim is a district (stadsdelsnämndsområde) of the Gothenburg Municipality in Sweden, about 10 km south of the city centre. To the northwest of Askim is Västra Frölunda, to the east is Mölndal, and the sea is to the west. As a district, Askim has a local board composed of the same proportions ruling Gothenburg as a whole. Frölunda

Västra Frölunda (more commonly referred to as just Frölunda) is one of 21 boroughs in the city of Gothenburg. It is located in the south western part of the city, and is the smallest of the boroughs with a population of only 12,855 (2004) on 3.72 square kilometres, although the term Frölunda generally is used for a much wider area covering almost all the city's western suburbs.

Majorna (district)

Majorna is a residential area in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is a part of the borough Majorna-Linné. It is located west of the city just outside the city centre, with Göta älv to the north, Masthugget and Slottsskogen to the east, Högsbo to the south and Älvsborg to the west. Majorna is an old area, originating from the times of Älvsborg castle before the foundation of Gothenburg in 1621. After the foundation of the city of Gothenburg, Majorna housed wharfs and other harbour-related business.

Landala

Landala is a district in central Gothenburg, Sweden with about 4,500 inhabitants (2005). Originally a traditional labour district with a large poorhouse, today Landala it is home for some important educational institutes in Western Sweden, such as Chalmers University of Technology, Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet and Vasa Komvux. Also LGA has its origin in Landala. Landala is also famous for its housing projects and social engineering in the 1960's.
