Vårgårda Municipality

Vårgårda Municipality (Vårgårda kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Vårgårda. The local government reform of 1952 formed this municipality through the amalgamation of a lot of very small municipalities. It got its name from the only larger built-up locality in the area, Vårgårda. Its territory was not affected by the reform of 1971.

Hedared stave church

Hedared Stave Church is a stave church situated in Hedared between Alingsås and Borås in Västra Götaland county, in the west of Sweden. It is Sweden's only preserved medieval stave church. For a long time it was assumed Hedared stave church dated to early medieval times because it was built as a stave church.

Herrljunga Municipality

Herrljunga Municipality (Herrljunga kommun) is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Herrljunga. The local government reform of 1952 formed two municipalities, Herrljunga and Gäsene, in the area. Before that the number was 22. In 1974 they were merged to form the present entity.

Borås djurpark

Borås Djurpark is a 40-hectare zoo in the northern part of central Borås, Sweden. It has about 500 animals of 80 different species. The zoo was founded in 1962 by Sigvard Berggren, who was manager until 1969. Borås Djurpark is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA). It is the only zoo in Sweden that has African Bush Elephant.

Ryavallen

Ryavallen is a multi-purpose stadium in Borås, Sweden. From its inauguration in 1941 to 2004, it was the home of IF Elfsborg who now play at Borås Arena. During the 1958 FIFA World Cup, it hosted the matches between USSR and Austria, and between England and Austria. The record attendance is 22,654 spectators, when IF Elfsborg played IFK Norrköping in 1961. After Elfsborg had left the arena, the north stand was replaced by an indoor athletics hall.
