Romanshorn railway station is a railway station that serves the municipality of Romanshorn, in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. Opened in 1855, the station is owned and operated by SBB-CFF-FFS. It forms the junction between the Winterthur–Romanshorn railway, the Schaffhausen–Rorschach railway and the Romanshorn–Nesslau Neu St. Johann railway. Aach (river)

The Aach is a river in Arbon in Switzerland, formed by the confluence of two rivers, each about nine kilometers long. It flows through the city of Arbon and after almost two kilometers flows into Lake Constance The link road Arbon-Landquart crosses the Aach. Built in 1910, the bridge over the river was completely renovated for the first time in April 2006, after more than 90 years.

Battle of Lake Constance

The Battle of Lake Constance was a small naval battle between Roman forces and Celtic tribes in the spring of 15 BC. The battle occurred during the Roman campaigns under Augustus to conquer the northern Alps and regions south of the Danube river. During the last phase of the campaigns in the spring of 15 BC two Roman armies under Drusus and Tiberius set out to subdue Raetia. Drusus' army started from northern Italy crossing the Alps and moving towards the present-day city of Augsburg.

Obersee (Lake Constance)

The Obersee ("Upper Lake") the larger of the two parts of Lake Constance. It has an area of 473 km² in size and extends over 63 km between Bregenz and Bodman-Ludwigshafen. Its maximum width is 14 km. The Romans called it Lacus Venetus, Lacus Brigantinus and Lacus Constantinus. In the Middle Ages the dominant term was Lacus Bodamicus, or in German Bodensee. Gradually, this name began to include the Untersee (Lacus Acronius), so the term "Upper Lake" was introduced for the larger lake.
