Ain Dara temple

The Ain Dara temple, located near the village of Ain Dara, northwest of Aleppo, Syria, is an Iron Age Syro-Hittite temple noted for its similarities to Solomon's Temple as described in the Hebrew Bible. According to the excavator Ali Abu Assaf, it was in existence from 1300 BC until 740BC and remained "basically the same" during the period of the Solomonic Temple's construction (1000-900BC) as it had been before, so that it predates the Solomonic Temple.

Menagh Air Base

Menagh Air Base (or Minnigh airport, Minakh Air Base) is a Syrian Air Force installation located 6 kilometres south of Azaz, Aleppo Governorate, Syria. Menagh Air Base is home to the 4th Flying Training Squadron, equipped with MBB 223 Flamingo trainer aircraft and Mil Mi-8 helicopters. The air base is currently a major target of the Syrian opposition in the ongoing Syrian civil war, who as of January 2013 have surrounded the facility.
