The island lies close to the Msasani Peninsula (in the Kinondoni district of the city) and is reachable by means of a 30 minute boat ride from the mainland.

Ardhi University
Ardhi University (ARU) is a Tanzanian public university owned by the Government of Tanzania, established 28 March 2007, though it has been offering training for more than 60 years in different status.
