Ko Yao Yai (island)

Ko Yao Yai (island) is the largest island in the Ko Yao Archipelago. The island group is situated in the Phang Nga Bay in the Phang Nga province of Thailand. Ko Yao Yai means Big Yao Island. The other main island of the group is Ko Yao Noi (Little Yao Island), located off Ko Yao Yai's northern side and separated from it by a narrow sound. The population of Ko Yao Yai is about 8,000, whereas the population of Ko Yao Noi is about 4,500. The population is mostly Sunni Muslim.

Thai Airways Flight 365

Thai Airways Flight 365 was a Thai Airways Company Boeing 737-2P5 with registration number HS-TBC. Flight 365 was on a scheduled flight from Hat Yai International Airport to Phuket International Airport on 31 August 1987. On this flight there were a total of 83 people: 74 passengers and 9 crew. The Boeing 737 was delivered to Thai Airways in 1980 and had no previous adverse incident history. The meteorological conditions were good as Flight 365 approached Phuket International Airport.

Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga Bay is a 400 km² bay in the Andaman Sea between the island of Phuket and the mainland of the Malay peninsula of southern Thailand. Since 1981, an extensive section of the bay has been protected as the Ao Phang Nga National Park. The Park is situated in Phang Nga Province, at 08°17'N 098°36'E. Limestone cliffs with caves, collapsed cave systems and archaeological sites are found about Phang Nga Bay. Some 10,000 years ago, when sea levels were lower, one could walk from Phuket and Krabi.

Khao Phing Kan

Khao Phing Kan or Ko Khao Phing Kan (เกาะเขาพิงกัน) is a pair of islands on the west coast of Thailand, in the Phang Nga Bay, Andaman Sea. About 40 metres from its shores lies a 20 metres (66 ft) tall islet Ko Tapu or Khao Tapu. The island is a part of the Ao Phang Nga National Park. Since 1974, when it was featured in the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun, it is popularly called James Bond Island.

Koh Poda

Koh Poda is an island off the west coast of Thailand, located in Krabi Province, about 8 kilometres from Ao Nang. It is part of the Mu Koh Poda, or Poda Group Islands, which are under the administration of Haad Noppharat Thara-Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park. The group consists of Ko Poda, Ko Kai, Ko Mo and Ko Thap.
