Ratchaburi Province

Ratchaburi (often shortened Rat'buri, Thai: ราชบุรี) is one of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram and Phetchaburi. In the west it borders Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar. Ratchaburi means, "The land of the king. " The province is full of cultural heritage, beautiful landscapes and historical sites.

Khu Bua

Khu Bua is an archaeological site 12 km southeast of the town Ratchaburi, Thailand. It dates from the 6th century Dvaravati culture and was one of major cities of this kingdom. Within the roughly rectangular site of around 800x2000 m surrounded by an earthen wall and a moat 44 archaeological sites were found within and outside the wall, with the foundations of Wat Khlong Suwannakhiri being the largest and best preserved. Excavations were done in 1957, 1960 and 1961.

Khlong Damnoen Saduak

Khlong Damnoen Saduak (Thai คลองดำเนินสะดวก) is a canal in western central Thailand. It links the Tha Chin and Mae Klong rivers, and has a length of approximately 35 km. The canal was built by order of King Mongkut. It was finished in 1868. The most famous site along the canal is the floating market in Damnoen Saduak. At the mouth of the canal to the Mae Klong is the catholic Nativity of Our Lady Cathedral, the principal church of the Diocese of Ratchaburi.

Sanam Chandra Palace

Sanam Chandra Palace is a tiny castle-like structure built in a combination of French and English styles, but with adaptions for the tropical climate The palace grounds is located on a site Nakhon Pathom, Thailand and consists of five buildings and a Ganesh shrine. The palace was built from 1907 to 1911 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), and has a view of Phra Pathom Chedi. Part of the site is presently a campus of Silpakorn University.
