Huachiew Chalermprakiet University

Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) is a university located in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Huachiew Midwifery School, founded by the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, began offering nursing and midwifery training in 1941. It became Huachiew College with a single faculty in nursing in 1981 and expanded into a university in 1992 under its current name. HTMS Maeklong

HTMS Maeklong was a Royal Thai Navy escort vessel and training ship, built at the Uraga Dock in Yokosuka, Japan. Her sister ship was the HTMS Tachin. The Maeklong is preserved in concrete in Chulachomklao Fort in Phra Samut Chedi district, Samut Prakan province, Thailand. The ship is named after a river, the Mae Klong.

Samut Prakan Province

Samut Prakan is one of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand, established by the Act Establishing Changwat Samut Prakan, Changwat Nonthaburi, Changwat Samut Sakhon and Changwat Nakhon Nayok, Buddhist Era 2489 (1946), which came into force as from March 9, 1946. It is part of the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. Neighboring provinces are Bangkok, to the north and west, and Chachoengsao to the east.
