Maktar

Maktar, or Makthar, is a town and Roman site in Siliana Governorate, Tunisia, located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:35|51|38|N|9|12|21|E| | |name= }}. It is 140 km (90 mi) southwest of Tunis and 60 km (40 mi) southeast of El Kef. The population in 2004 was 12,942. Eles, Tunisia

Eles (also transliterated as Ellès and Al Las) is a village in the Siliana Governorate, Tunisia. It is located around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:35|56|55|N|9|5|50|E| | |name= }} around 13 km northwest of Maktar. It sits over a natural spring at the base of the surrounding hills. The village is notable for the large number of dolmens found immediately to the west, south and east of the village which are typical of the tombs found around Maktar.

Le Sers Airfield

Le Sers Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield in Tunisia, about 3 km of As Sars; 130 km southwest of Tunis. It was a temporary airfield constructed by Army Engineers using compacted earth for its runway, parking and dispersal areas, not designed for heavy aircraft or for long term use. The prevailing temperatures in the area are some of the hottest in the world, making steel planking unsuitable for airfield use.
