Tamerza
Tamerza (or Tameghza, تمغزة) is the largest mountain oasis in Tunisia, known as Ad Turres by the Romans. It has a pleasant canyon and has an abandoned old town. The town was abandoned after the river flooded for 22 days in 1969. It is located north of the salt lakes and receives fresh water from the nearby hills. It is in the hillcountry near the border with Algeria, and is 6km from Mides.

Chebika
Chebika (الشبيكة) is a mountain oasis in western Tunisia, in Tozeur Governorate. Chebika lies at the foot of the mountains of the Djebel el Negueb and, because of its exposure to the sun, it is known as Qasr el-Shams ("Castle of the Sun" in Arabic). In antiquity, it was once a Roman outpost, named Ad Speculum and later a mountain refuge of the Berber people.
