Souk-el-Khemis Airfield

Souk-el-Khemis Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield in Tunisia, located approximately 3 km southeast of Bou Salem, and 110 km east-northeast of Tunis. It was a temporary airfield built by the US Army Corps of Engineers, used by the United States Army Air Force Twelfth Air Force during the North African Campaign by the 325th Fighter Group during 3-19 June 1943 flying P-40 Warhawks. After the 325th moved east, the airfield was dismantled and abandoned.

Souk-el-Arba Airfield

Souk-el-Arba Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield in Tunisia, located approximately 2.3 km southeast of Jendouba; 130 km west-southwest of Tunis. It was a temporary airfield constructed by Army Engineers using compacted earth for its runway, parking and dispersal areas, not designed for heavy aircraft or for long term use. Also known as Engle Field, it was used by the United States Army Air Force Twelfth Air Force during the North African campaign.

Jendouba

Jendouba is a large city in northwestern Tunisia, and capital of the Jendouba Governorate. It is an important crossroads with many road links to other towns such as El Kef, Tabarka, Ain Draham and Béja. The main economic activity is agriculture. It is close to the famous ancient Roman city of Bullaregia or Bulla Regia, as well as the ancient marble quarry of Chemtou.
