Başbağlar massacre

The Başbağlar massacre is the name given to the event in which militants from the PKK, killed 33 Sunni Turkish civilians and burnt down the village of Başbağlar near Erzincan on July 5, 1993. The incident took place at the village of Başbağlar, near Kemaliye in Erzincan Province, when approximately 100 heavily armed militants rampaged through the village, dragging all the civilians to the village square and burning their homes and property.

Koyungölü

Koyungölü is a village in Ovacık district of Tunceli Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:39|21|N|39|07|E||| | |name= }} it is sitıated in the valley of Munzur river. The distance to Ovacık is 10 kilometres and to Tunceli is 72 kilometres . The population of Koyungölü is 350 as of 2011. Like most villages around, the main economic activities are animal breeding and agriculture.
