Kayacık Dam

The Kayacık Dam impounds the Ayfinar Deresi, one of the two streams that join south of Gaziantep to form the Sajur River. It is located in Gaziantep Province, Turkey. The dam was constructed between 1993 and 2005 as part of the Southeastern Anatolia Project (Turkish: 'Güneydoğu Anadolu Projesi, or GAP). It is 45 metres high and has a volume of 1,853,000 cubic metres .

Turbessel

Turbessel is a fortress in south-eastern Turkey. It was a part of the Byzantine Empire but came under control of local Armenian lords in the late 11th century. As a part of the County of Edessa, it was one of the main strongholds of the Frankish counts. After the fall of Edessa to Zengi, it became the principal city of what remained of the County until it was eventually sold to the Emperor Manuel I Comnenus in 1150. It fell to Nur ed-Din's Muslims within the year.

Uluyatır

Uluyatır is a town in Nizip district of Gaziantep Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:36|58|N|37|42|E||| | |name= }} in the valley of Nizip creek to the south of Turkish state highway D.400. it is between Gaziantep and Nizip. Distance to Nizip is 10 kilometres and to Gaziantep is 30 kilometres . The population of Uluyatır is 2431 as of 2011.

Battle of Nezib

The Battle of Nezib was fought on June 24, 1839 between Egypt and the Ottoman Empire. The Egyptians were led by Ibrahim Pasha, while the Ottomans were led by Hafiz Osman Pasha, with Moltke in command of the Ottoman artillery. The Ottoman were positioned at Mezar, southwest of Nezib, with the Nezib river on their left. Ibrahim advanced his force, under heavy Ottoman artillery fire, towards the Ottoman lines.
