New Trabzon Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Akyazı, Trabzon, Turkey. It will effectively replace the ageing Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium, which has been in use since the early 1950s. It is expected to be completed in 2012, and will be used mostly for football matches and will host the homes matches of Trabzonspor. Boztepe or Mount Minthrion is a hill near Trabzon in Turkey. It is located 3 kilometers southeast of the city center of Trabzon. The Değirmendere Valley lies to the west of Boztepe. The Kaymaklı quarter occupies most of the Boztepe hill. The area has been religiously significant since ancient times. (Whiting, pg 565) There are four sacred fountains on Bozetepe. That of Saint John the Sanctifier is near the summit. On the site is a mosque that was formerly a nineteenth-century church.

Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium
Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium (Turkish: Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu) is the home ground of the Turkish football (soccer) club Trabzonspor. The stadium was built in 1951 with a capacity of 2,500 seats. After several renovations, the capacity was increased to 20750 in 2008. The stadium is named after Hüseyin Avni Aker, a teacher and regional administrator for education, who served during 1940–1944 in Trabzon and contributed much to the local sports.
