Yuzhnoye Design Bureau (Ukrainian: Державне конструкторське бюро «Південне» ім. М. К. Янгеля; Russian: Констру́кторское бюро́ «Ю́жное»), located in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, is a designer of satellites and rockets, and formerly of Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) established by Mikhail Yangel. The 1979 Dniprodzerzhynsk mid-air collision refers to the mid-air collision of two Aeroflot Tupolev Tu-134s that took place on 11 August 1979 over the Ukrainian SSR, near Dniprodzerzhynsk. All 178 occupants of both aircraft perished in the accident.
