Kodak Fortress

Kodak fortress was a fort built in 1635 by the order of Polish king Władysław IV Vasa and the Sejm over the Dnieper River, near what was to become the town of Stari Kodaky. It was constructed by Stanisław Koniecpolski to control Cossacks of Zaporizhian Sich, prevent Ukrainian peasants from joining forces with the Cossacks and guard the southeastern corner of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

Dnieper Reservoir

The Dnieper Reservoir (Ukrainian: Дніпровське водосховище, Dniprovs'ke vodoskhovyshche) is a water reservoir on, and named after the Dnieper River in Ukraine. It is located within the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts. It was created in 1932 by the construction of the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station. The reservoir is 129 km long, has an average width of 3.2 km (7 km at its widest), and has an average depth of 8 meters (53 m at its deepest). The total water volume is 3.3 km³.

Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture

The Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture is one of the major academic institutions of higher education in Ukraine, specializing in engineering and economics, located in Dnipropetrovsk. Founded in 1930 as the "Dnipropetrovsk Institute of Civil Engineering", it currently has 7 faculties and 590 full-time faculty members. It is a member of several academic co-operations, including the IAU (1997) and АUF (2006).

Stadium Meteor

Stadium Meteor was a multi-purpose stadium in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. It was used mostly for football matches, and was the home of FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. The stadium can hold 24,381 people. Currently its tenant, Dnipro was relocated to Dnipro Stadium after a long spell at this arena.

Transfiguration Cathedral, Dnipropetrovsk

The Saviour's Transfiguration Cathedral (Ukrainian: Спасо-Преображенський кафедральний собор) is the main Orthodox church of Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. The foundation stone was laid in 1786 by Catherine II of Russia and Emperor Joseph II. The event is described in the memoirs of comte de Ségur. Prince Grigory Potemkin envisioned the church as one of the spiritual centres of New Russia.
