It is located under the Poltavsky Shosse, in the middle of the Kholodna Hora residential district in the western part of Kharkiv. Until October 8, 1995, the station and the street on which it is located were known as Vulytsia Sverdlova (Ulitsa Sverdlova), literally Street of Sverdlov.

The Pivdennyi Vokzal or Yuzhny Vokzal is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Kholodnohirsko–Zavodska Line. The station was opened on August 23, 1975. It is located beneath a square near Kharkiv's main railway station, Pivdennyy Vokzal, literally Southern Station, for which the metro station is named. From the station hall, two pedestrian tunnels lead directly to the control building of the railway station and to the post office and out-of-town ticket counters within the train station.

Palace of Sports "Lokomotiv"
Palace of Sports "Lokomotiv" (Ukrainian: Палац спорту «Локомотив» Russian: Дворец спорта «Локомотив») is an indoor arena in the eastern Ukrainian city Kharkiv. Rebuilt in 2004, it has a seating capacity for 4,000 people. It is the home for the matches of the Ukrainian Fed Cup team, volleyball and it is also used for boxing matches. The arena is the regular home venue of the futsal team MFK Lokomotiv Kharkiv and the Lokomotiv Kharkiv volleyball team.
