Kiev Reservoir

The Kyiv Reservoir (Ukrainian: Київське водосховище, Kyyivs’ke vodoskhovyshche), locally the Kyiv Sea, is a large water reservoir located on the Dnieper River in Ukraine. Named after the city of Kyiv, which lies to the south, it covers a total area of 922 square kilometres within the Kyiv Oblast. The reservoir was formed in 1960-1966, as a result of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant dam being built at Vyshhorod.

Mezhyhirya Monastery

The Mezhyhirya Savior-Transfiguration Monastery (Ukrainian: Межигірський Спасо-Преображенський монастир, Mezhyhirskyi Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi Monastyr) is an Eastern Orthodox female monastery that was located in the neighborhood of Mezhyhiria. The monastery served as a historic Princely residency of Rurik dynasty during the Medieval times located just 10 kilometres to the north of Vyshhorod. Today, the territory is part of the Vyshhorod Raion, Kiev Oblast in northern Ukraine.

Oster River

The Oster River is a river in the northern Ukrainian oblast of Chernihiv. The river is the left branch of the Desna River. It is approximately 199 km long and its basin area is 2,950 km². It is connected by canals and streams with the Trubizh River, which flows southwest from Kiev into the Dnieper River. Important towns and villages on the river include: Nizhyn, Kozelets, Roslavl and Oster.
