Atherington, Devon

Atherington is a village and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England, about 8 miles south of Barnstaple. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 391. The church of St Mary is Perpendicular and was restored by J. L. Pearson in 1884. The church has a screen and gallery dating back 400 years, as well as a roodloft stairway of the same age. In the loft are Elizabethan heraldic panels.

Umberleigh Chapel

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity at Umberleigh is a ruinous mediaeval chapel in north Devon, England, largely demolished according to Lysons (1822) in about 1800. It stands next to Umberleigh House, the manor house of Umberleigh, which still survives in the form of a large Georgian farmhouse. The ruins together with the adjoining Umberleigh House were granted a Grade I listed status on 25 February 1965.

Yarnscombe

Yarnscombe is a small village at the centre of the Yarnscombe parish in the Torridge area of Devon, England. Yarnscome is approximately 5 miles from Great Torrington and 8 miles from Barnstaple. In the year 2001 census the population was recorded at 300. Yarnscombe has a church by the name of St Andrews, and a Village Hall which is available to hire for parties, wedding receptions etc.

Belle Vue Airfield

Belle Vue Airfield (often classed as airport or heliport) is a single runway airfield about 2.5 miles north east of Great Torrington in North Devon, England. It is for general and private aviation only, and the 580 m runway is grass. It is most popular for model aircraft flying clubs like the Midlands Large Model Aircraft Flying Club to fly their planes at special events here. It is one the smallest aviation hubs in Devon.

Huntshaw Cross transmitting station is a telecommunications facility serving North Devon including the towns of Barnstaple and South Molton. It broadcasts television, radio and mobile telephone services and is currently owned by Arqiva. It is located on the B3232 road at Huntshaw, Great Torrington. Grid reference SS527220. The mast is 164 metres high.
