Yarnscombe is a small village at the centre of the Yarnscombe parish in the Torridge area of Devon, England. Yarnscome is approximately 5 miles from Great Torrington and 8 miles from Barnstaple. Bishops Tawton is a village and civil parish in the North Devon district of Devon, England. It is in the valley of the River Taw, about three miles south of Barnstaple. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,176. The church spire is 14th century. Within the church, the baptismal font is Norman. The farmhouse by the church was formerly a residence of the Bishops of Exeter until the Tudor period.
